Gainsborough Quaker Meeting

We are a Quaker meeting that is local to Gainsborough and which gathers at Friends Meeting House, located in the town centre.

Gainsborough Meeting House is an old building where Quakers have been meeting since 1705. The market town of Gainsborough lies on the river Trent and has one of the most well preserved medieval buildings, Gainsborough Hall, which dates back to the 1400’s. The town also has one of the few crossing points on the River Trent, dating from Roman times.

Our meeting is small and always welcoming. We meet twice a month just now, on the first and third Sundays, at 10.30 for an hour, where we sit in stillness. There is tea and a chat afterwards.

Quakers (also known as Friends) live in various villages surrounding Gainsborough in this large rural county.

We are fortunate that parking is free on Sundays in the local car parks and on the street. Unfortunately there are no buses or trains to Gainsborough on Sundays.

Do just come along if you would like to join us in our meeting.

Our meeting is one of eight that combine together to form Lincolnshire Quaker Area Meeting.
